What is So Great?

Why do white people think that they are so much better than everyone else? I truly want to know the answer because the way I see it, we’re not. Yes I am white but I don’t feel more entitled or privileged than others because of my race. Truly, why are we pushing white supremacy, especially in today’s society? Are we looking to celebrate the fact that we sunburn easier than other races? That we are creating a society that promotes self harm, bullying, and feelings of not being good enough? That we were so set in the ways of slavery that we can’t seem to move past that way of thinking? What is so great about white people?

Let me put it this way, I could make a list of all the ways that I think that I am great. I could tell you why I enjoy being who I am but not a single thing I share would have to do with being white. I’m white? Good for me. That’s not what I care about. You’re black? Fantastic. The only thing I care about is your personality. I could talk to fifty people of a different race in a day and not once think that I am better than any one of them. Why? It’s not about what’s on the outside. All this talk of “white supremacy” and “black lives matter” is boring and so very old. Cut the crap and let it go. All lives matter. All people stand supreme. I just wish that everyone could see that.
