Will Apple release a portable HomePod?

Of the products I thought Apple could have announced at their September event (which you can find in a previous article), a portable HomePod (so, non an «Home»Pod at all) was the one the least people probably talked about. However, I think it could be a great product. But what would make it better than a regular speaker, and worth the very likely price premium?

Everyone who heard an HomePod, or even better a stereo pair, agrees that it sound amazing. A portable version would be much worse for sure.

It would work flawlessly alongside Apple devices, just like AirPods do. It could also support Siri and an internet connection, and not require sound to be streamed from another device.

It could charge via AirPower, if that’s ever going to come out.

Many bluetooth speakers allow you to connect multiple together, but they don’t really give you an actual stereo setup like normal HomePods do and a portable version would.
