Pattern 8 Parse Tree

A parse tree is sometimes called a syntax tree (as opposed to an abstract syntax tree). Despite not being that useful for building interpreters and translators, I’m including this pattern because…

Tips to Set Up FIFA 23 Crossplay

FIFA 23 has been released, and players have dived into multiple modes in EA Sports’ latest release.

But one question remains: how do you set up cross-play?

FIFA 23 crossplay enables players to play games from different platforms, so you’re no longer limited to playing with friends using the same console.

Players of the same generation platform can play cross-platform:
PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Stadia and PC; PlayStation 4 and Xbox One

This feature debuted in May 2022. Electronic Arts tested it in FIFA 22 with some limitations.

Crossplay is now fully operational in the new game and is available in the following game modes (except all co-op):

Against Friends: Online Friendlies; FUT play a Friend

Matchmaking: Online Seasons; FUT Online Friendlies; FUT Rivals; FUT Champions; FUT Online Draft.

This makes the game more competitive and reduces the time it takes to find matches.

How to Set Up Cross-Play?

Crossplay is enabled by default in FIFA 23. But to be sure, you can follow these steps:
1. Open the main menu of FIFA 23.
2. Press R2 or RT to bring up the social tab.
3. Press Options or Start to enter social settings.
4. Go to pairing options.
5. Choose a cross-play setting.
6. You can flick it to yes if it’s set to no (it shouldn’t be by default).
7. That’s it.

It’s effortless to do and gives you more matchmaking options.

When crossplay is enabled, a widget in the bottom right corner of the FIFA 23 main menu can be prompted to open with the corresponding button.

With this EA Social widget, you can enable/disable cross-play, search for friends regardless of their platform, and block and/or mute someone when needed.

One game mode where players won’t find cross-play is Pro Clubs. EA Sports’ decision was heavily criticized by many, who found it hard to accept.

Many fans feel that Pro Club has the highest social content and should have crossplay. In addition to professional clubs, players can also enjoy cross-play in official and friendly matches.
